About

I was trained in Appliance Repair in San Diego, California at American Business College during the 1970s. After graduating from A.B.C. I worked for 2 different companies in San Diego as a service technician. Next I branched out on my own working for a large property management company. After a year or so I placed several large ads in the San Diego telephone book and started a company called Action Appliance Repair. I’ve been repairing kitchen and laundry appliances in homes just like yours for well over 40 years now.

In 1991 I moved to Eugene, Oregon in search of affordable housing and a better life, and I found both of them here. I love Oregon. Lane County is definitely my home. I’ve been here for over 30 years and I would never think of living anywhere else. I started Fix It 4 Less Appliance Repair in 1991, and within a couple of years I made a little niche for myself right here doing appliance repair work.

In 1995 I moved out of town. Shortly after that my dog Buster was hit by a car on the street outside of my house. After I got over the pain of losing Buster I got another dog which I named Molly Brown (Molly “B” for short) after the unsinkable Molly Brown. She had such an incredible determination about her that I thought she would never die. She was just a little puppy when I met her at the Greenhill Animal Shelter and she jumped right up into my arms the moment she saw me. Molly used to drive around with me to all of my appointments, but eventually she did die, after she got cancer. She died in the vet’s office with my arms around her in much the same way they were around her when I first met her.

I buried her on top of a mountain with a view that lasts forever, and she will forever live in my heart. She was just 3 years old when she died, so after two broken hearts I have decided not to get another dog, but I am still very much a dog person and I look forward to meeting all of my customers’ dogs for now.
