Personal History About Scott
I was trained in Appliance Repair in San Diego, California at American Business College in the 1970s. After graduating from A.B.C. I worked for 2 different companies in San Diego as a service technician. Next I branched out on my own, and gained a lot of useful experience working primarily for a large property management company. A year or so later I placed several ads in the San Diego Yellow Pages Directory, and started a company called Action Appliance Repair. It served primarily individual homeowners. I’ve been repairing kitchen and laundry appliances in homes just like yours ever since, for well over 20 years.
In 1991 I moved to Eugene, Oregon in search of affordable housing and a better life, and I found them both here. I love Oregon. Lane County is definitely my home. I’ve been here 20 years now, and I would never think of moving back to California, or anywhere else for that matter. I started Fix It 4 Less Appliance in 1991, and in a couple of years I made a little niche for myself right here in Eugene, doing appliance repairs.
In 1995 I moved outside of the urban growth boundary, into the beautiful countryside surrounding town. Shortly thereafter, my first dog Buster was hit and killed by a motorist on the street outside of my house. I buried Buster on my farm in the country. After a while I got another dog. I named her Molly Brown or Molly “B” for short because she had such a determination about her that I thought she was absolutely indestructible like the unsinkable Molly Brown. Molly used to drive around with me in the truck to all of my appointments. She was just a little yellow lab mix puppy when I found her at Greenhill. She immediately jumped right up into my arms the minute I met her, and she was with me ever since.
Several years ago Molly got cancer and died, and I buried her on top of a high mountain with a view that lasts forever, and she will forever live in my heart. She died with my arms around her, in much the very same way they were when I first met her. She was only 3 years old. After she died I didn’t get another dog, but I love dogs, and I look forward to meeting all of my customers’ dogs now.
